Welcome to Baltic 2012, The 11th Colloquium on Baltic Sea Marine Geology
The conference will be hosted by the Geological Survey of Finland, GTK
from 19th to 21st September 2012. The venue for the meeting is m/s Silja Serenade,
which will cruise on route Helsinki-Stockholm-Helsinki during the conference.
Baltic 2012 will present oral and poster presentations relevant to research associated with the Baltic Sea marine geology.
The scientific themes of Baltic 2012 will include:
1. Geoscience in the Baltic Sea energy development
2. Geological development of the Baltic Sea Basin (towards the Baltic IODP)
3. Geo-bio interactions in space and time
4. Challenges for society: Changing sea level and coastal processes through time
