The GeoHab meeting 2011 will be hosted by the Geological Survey of Finland (http://www.gtk.fi/) from 3.5. to 6.5.2011. The Geological Survey of Finland is located in the city of Espoo in Helsinki metropolitan area. Helsinki is the capital and largest city in Finland. It is in the southern part of Finland, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, by the Baltic Sea.
GeoHab (Marine Geological and Biological Mapping) has brought together scientists working on marine geological and biological mapping since 2001. The year 2011 will be the 10th anniversary of GeoHab and will be celebrated in Helsinki, Finland. The main focus of the conference is: Development of New Methodologies to Map the Marine Environment in Support of Sustainable Ocean Management.
GEOHAB 2011 will present oral and poster presentations relevant to research associated with submarine habitat mapping.
In addition there is an intention to organize a pre-conference workshop with the preliminary title "Mapping the Seafloor for Energy Development"
