Airborne geophysical surveys

The Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) commenced systematic airborne geophysical surveys in 1951, being among the first in the world to do so. GTK has carried out systematic aerogeophysical low-altitude surveys in Finland 1972-2007. The main terrain clearance has been 30-40 meters and nominal line spacing 200 meters. GTK has also flown succesfully airborne surveys in Europe, Africa, North West and Central Asia.

Measured geophysical parameters has been:

  • Total magnetic field
  •  Electromagnetic field
  •  Earth's gamma radiation
