DHC-6/300 Twin Otter

STOL fixed-wing (technical details), twin engine aircraft (registration sign OH-KOG). The aircraft is built in Canada 1979 ( De Havilland Canada).Speed during survey flights: 160-250 km/h. During the manufacturing of the Twin Otter several modifications were made to its electrical system in order to reduce the electrical noise level. This aircraft has been used since 1980 for aerogeophysical measurements.  During over 40 years the GTK and and Karair (1st DHC-operator) ,  Finnair/Malmilento (2nd), and  Finnish Aviation Academy (3rd) have succesfully completed over 2 millions of line kilometres in aerogeophysical survey operation, mainly for mapping and subsequent mineral exploration programmes.

The flight operator and owner of the aircraft ( registration sign: OH-USI ) is Utin Lento Oy. The GTK is responsible for all measurement units and their use. Condition of the aircraft is excellent (built 1998). Aircraft navigation equipment: 2 ADF, 2 VOR/DME, 2 GPS, 2 transponder, 1 radar, ILS, autopilot. (Technical details).
