WP3 Technical development: sample preparation methods and analytical protocols
The WP3 will develop an analytical protocol, where the optimized number of target mineral grains from a single sample can be analysed for the most relevant major, minor and trace elements and selected isotopes within a short time. When optimized, the protocol will not just yield much more detailed information about the compositional variability of the target mineral, but will also be capable to do this more rapidly than the bulk analysis methods typically used.
