Evaluation of natural stone resources in the project area and Development of the assessment process of natural stone occurrences

The project area has been assessed for evaluation of future exploitations, evaluating the geology of the area, the deposits and the active quarries, including information relative to the historical quarries used for the constructions.

Natural Stone of the Karelian Isthmus in Architecture of Saint-Petersburg

A comprehensive description of the geological characteristics of the Karelian Isthmus area in the Leningrad region consisting of 24 deposits, had been done and published "Natural stone and other mineral resources of the northern Karelian Isthmus, Tutorial for students and young geologists from both sides of the Russian-Finnish border".

Document of best practices on natural stone evaluation and research

At the same time along the project has been possible to compare the methodologies adopted by the different institutions for assessing a deposit and natural stone research methods. Documentation of the new geophysical methods and analysis of their effectiveness has been done and a report on the best practices has been created.
